We are proud to announce the successful completion and commissioning of an advanced photovoltaic and battery storage system at our Mikulov site. The system has undergone full-load testing and demonstrated seamless transitions between grid and backup power without any interruptions.
This implementation ensures that the entire building – with the exception of heating and cooling systems – is now supported by uninterrupted backup power. As a result, micro-outages and blackouts should no longer impact operations.
A key innovation of this project lies in the replacement of traditional UPS systems. Instead of relying on permanently connected backup systems with high maintenance demands, the new solution uses a battery equipped with a rapid-connection system. The technical solution for the key rapid-switch component was provided by TBE electric s.r.o., which was responsible for the design and delivery of the technology enabling the battery system to connect within 10–20 milliseconds in the event of an outage. This speed makes any transition effectively undetectable, even for highly sensitive equipment.
In addition to enhanced reliability, this approach delivers significant cost efficiency. The project has eliminated the need for UPS units and their regular replacement cycles, resulting in savings of tens of thousands of euros both in initial investment and ongoing maintenance.

The system combines multiple energy sources into a single, integrated solution:
- Photovoltaic system: 99 kWp (AIKO panels)
- Inverters: 2× Huawei SUN2000 (40 kW each)
- Battery storage: Huawei LUNA2000 (215 kWh)
- Diesel generator: Cummins (176 kW)
- Custom connection system by TBE electric s.r.o. with detection within 10 ms and connection within 10–20 ms
This configuration (PV + Battery + Diesel Backup + Grid) represents the current state of the art in energy management systems. The Mikulov installation is the first of its kind in the Czech Republic and only the third in Europe.
